Yola Augustin, MD

Physician – Internal Medicine

I am Dr. Yola Augustin. My remote past education included earning a Bachelors in Science at Sophie Davis School of Biomedicine (graduated in 1995), a medical degree at Albany Medical College (graduated in 1998), an internal medicine internship and residency at Winthrop Medical Center (completed in 2001). I used to work at several community health centers, including 2 networks in NYC (including Community Healthcare Network, family planning services). I moved to Central NY in December 2002. My local work includes 16 years at Syracuse Community Health Center, as an internist. I used to admit to both Crouse Hospital and Upstate Medical Center/SUNY UH. Once, I was an associate professor in the Primary Care Scholars Program (2003); this program was designed to gear medical students into general medicine and caring for multi-faceted cases.

I started to work for CFM in August 2016. I have practiced adult medicine at 4 locations, including my current residence at Court St. I handle a wide array of medical illnesses with an international array of clients. This role requires additional knowledge of culture, health and illness. Such an assignment adds another layer of challenge to medical care. It is fascinating, yet requires mental agility...

I have personal interests and hobbies, including intermediate level crocheting, arts and crafting (ie. illustrations), gardening, playing the piano and reading sheet music, hiking in the woods, bicycling, and light dancing. I speak fluent English and some French. Family time includes travelling abroad. Future goals include maximizing work life balance.
